The Pupil Premium Funding is allocated to schools based on the number of children who are meeting pupil premium criteria:
- Children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) (not to be mistaken with the UIFSM, universal infant free school meal, that all infant school children are entitled to).
- Children eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as Ever 6 FSM).
- Children who have been "looked after" continuously for one day or more.
- Children who are adopted from care or have Special Guardianship.
Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils who are disadvantaged. As a result we publish information about how we have used the funding so that parents and others are made fully aware of the attainment of our disadvantaged pupils covered by the Premium and the extra support they receive.
