Consultation for Admissions arrangements 2021-22

St Martin’s C of E Voluntary Aided Schools Epsom are consulting with parents, carers and other stakeholders on the 2021-22 Admissions arrangements for the Infant and the Junior Schools.

In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2014, please find shown on this web page the proposed Admission Arrangements for St Martin’s C of E Voluntary Aided Infant and Junior Schools Epsom for entry in September 2021.

Change to St Martin’s C of E Infant School Epsom Admissions Policy 2021-22
To add an additional oversubscription criterion for children of staff who, on the application date, have been employed on a full or part-time basis at St Martin’s C of E Voluntary Aided Infant or Junior School Epsom for at least two years or who were recruited to fill a skills shortage.

Rationale
The addition of an oversubscription criterion for children of staff will bring St Martin’s Schools Epsom into line with many Diocesan schools. In addition, Surrey County Council is consulting on making a similar change to the admissions arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools. St Martin’s Schools wish to remain competitive in being able to recruit and retain the best teachers to work at St Martin’s Schools, Epsom.

The consultation on the admission arrangements for St Martin’s C of E Infant and Junior Schools Epsom for 2021-22 will run until Thursday 30 January 2020.

What happens next?

After the closing date, responses will be collated and presented to the Governing Body for consideration at its meeting on 4 February 2020. The Governing Body will decide whether to include the proposed changes.
